Like the Dilwynner parish magazine, this website is independant of all parish organisations. This website is supported by the parish council but not financially, - the website and the dilwyn.com domain name are privately owned and financed and the website is therefore provided at no cost to the parish or its residents..

The aim of this website is to provide a comprehensive, non-commercial and impartial service to the residents of Dilwyn's civil parish and to promote the parish to those who live outside of its boundaries.

The website uses a Content Management System (CMS) to produce content. A content management system allows publishing, editing and modifying content as well as maintenance from a central interface. Little or few programming skills are required within this system although they can be helpful for certain tasks.

Rather than produce static content a CMS is database driven and produces dynamic content. By the use of templates, modules, components and plug-ins the resultant website can be tailored to produce unique and specific content.

The CMS used by this website is open-source but is used by many major organisations such as MTV, Harvard University, Citibank etc.
