Welcome to the Parish of Dilwyn Community Gateway
Dilwyn is an attractive rural parish situated in the north west of Herefordshire in the United Kingdom.
The central village itself is designated as a conservation area. However, the civil parish is quite extensive and includes much more than just the central village.
Within the parish are the hamlets of Sollers Dilwyn, Little Dilwyn, The Haven, Hill Top, The Hurst, Headland, Bearton, Bidney, Henwood, Stockmoor and Stockingfield amongst others.
With multiple enteries in the Domesday book, present day Dilwyn can be proven to be the result of more than a 1,000 years of settlement.
Because of this long period of settlement, Dilwyn has many historic buildings and interesting features.
Time spent by visitors looking at our 13th century church, examining the pretty local buildings and cottages, strolling on the green and perhaps visiting the parish owned Crown Inn pub and its garden will give a taste of the desirable quality of life enjoyed by this community.
Dilwyn is just one of the many pretty half-timbered villages that are so prevalent in this part of Herefordshire and provides an ideal starting point for following The Black and White Village Trail that leads visitors through the area.
The Notice Boards on the village green have information for visitors on the reverse sides.
